One of the first steps to retrofitting a facility with occupancy sensors is the auditing of the building’s existing lighting system. To assist with auditing, Sensor Switch has a job auditing service and a downloadable auditing tool called Job Walk.

Job Audit Tool

To simplify the task of doing lighting/sensor audits of existing buildings we have designed a tool called Job Walk. An EXCEL spreadsheet consisting of several linked worksheets, Job Walk provides easy to use forms for gathering information about a potential lighting and sensor upgrade project. Besides enabling you to find the approximate number of sensors needed to adequately cover a building; Job Walk also makes cost, savings, simple payback, and ROI calculations simple.

Worksheets Included in Job Walk

Walk Form - This form can be printed and used to collect information such as sensors to be used, ceiling types, fixture type, etc.

Applications - This worksheet describes common uses for Sensor Switch products and can be printed as a reference guide.

Financial - This worksheet has a cash flow chart showing the savings anticipated from a lighting system upgrade.

Energy Savings - This worksheet provides building profile charts detailing area types by load and an analysis of energy consumption and electrical demand both before and after the product installation.

Job Details - This worksheet is used to capture project costing information.

Savings - This worksheet uses the information from the Line-by-Line worksheet to calculate an energy savings analysis. Electricity rates and demand charges are also entered on this page.

HVAC Savings - This worksheet provides an analysis of the potential HVAC energy savings.

Fixture Schedule - This worksheet provides a look up table for all fixture types used in Line-by-Line. Each worksheet row shows the existing fixture type and the proposed retrofit fixture.

Line-by-Line - This is the primary worksheet where data gathered on the Walk Form is entered.

Products - This worksheet presents a complete product Bill of Materials.
